John Baldovin is a Jesuit priest and professor of historical & liturgical theology at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. He has served on the US Catholic Bishops Advisory Committee on the Liturgy as well as on the advisory committee of ICEL from 1994-2002. He has been president of the N. American Academy of Liturgy, the international ecumenical Societas Liturgica and the Jungmann Society for Jesuits and Liturgy. He has published a number of essays and reviews on theological journals. His latest book is Reforming the Liturgy: A Response to the Critics (Liturgical Press, 2008).
