Just outside of Philadelphia, Mexican newcomers are revitalizing a dying Irish-Catholic parish. American parishioners from this once moribund church learn to accept and embrace this new group of immigrants bringing new life to their church and community. Immigrant families establish new lives in an unfamiliar, at times bewildering, country that offers their children more opportunities, while also observing the painful compromises caused by leaving behind family and support networks. Now, the sounds of children giggling have returned to the church, and mariachis join bagpipers in celebrating community events. See the story unfold in the film, and hear from director and producer, Noam Osband, following the screening.

The presentation at Holy Cross is co-sponsored by Catholic Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, and Catholics & Cultures.
